Day care centre started in 1987

1988

Purchased 70 cent plot in Thalakkulathur Panchyat for Manas Centre in the year 1988. In 1988 Hon’ble Health Minister Sri. A.C. Shanmukhadas laid foundation stone for this rehabilitation centre.

1990

In 1990 an industrial centre was started with the help of Calicut Round Table. The Society started a charitable venture of conducting monthly medical camp and supplied free medicines approximately to 200 mentally ill patients every month. Dr. P.P. Muhammed Hassan was the then Vice President of the Society and Dr. K.R.Balakrishnan etc were the eminent Psychiatrists who attended the camp and consulted the patients free of cost. They also conducted seminars under the auspice of NIMHANS and SCARF.

1990

In 1990 building construction started for Manas Rehabilitation Centre.

1996

In 1996 first step of building construction was completed with 7 rooms along with essential facilities. On 26/1/96 the newly constructed building was inaugurated by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister AK. Antony.

1996

First admission to this rehabilitation centre was given on the very day of Gandhijayanthi in 1996 by the then Hon’ble Minister Sri. A.C. Shanmukhadas

1999

In June 1999 the Society celebrated the 100th medical camp in Calicut city Town hall and the leading psychiatrists of Calicut participated.

2001

In 2001 construction of new block started

2002

The second stage of building construction started with the help of generous public and it was inaugurated by Mr. Thottathil Raveendran the Hon’ble Mayor of Kozhikode in 2002. The building consisted kitchen and dining hall facilities.

2007

First floor was started in 2007 with a view to provide sufficient accommodation facilities to the inmates with a budget of rupees 26 lakhs. Total fund was collected from the generous public. The first floor was inaugurated on 9/5/2010 by the then Hon’ble Central Minister Mr. E. Ahammed

2009

In 2009 an occupation therapy centre started with extended facilities under the auspice of IMHANS & DIST. PANCHYAT.

2010

In 2010 facilities like bed, cot etc were provided enough to accommodate 30 inmates ie. 3 inmates each in one room. Besides, construction of compound wall, garden, play ground etc were also completed.

The institution was honored by Alliance International and Wescosa Awards for the sincere service to the mentally ill for the past 26 years.

The institution celebrated its Silver Jubilee and the celebration was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister Dr. M.K. Muneer.

2013

Orphanage Control Board granted the Certificate of Recognition on 08/05/2013 as No:2118 17. Social Justice Department awarded the certificate of Registration for Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centres of Mentally Ill Persons on 08/01/2014 as No:74/13/PRC

2014

In 2014, Society for Mental Health started paper cup manufacturing unit at Manas Centre

KSFE donate a Mini Bus, Water Cooler, Water Purifier and Computer

A new Bore well installed by Rotary club of Calicut Midtown

Started Health Club & Librarary with the help of Vijay Fans Association

2018

A Paper Bag manufacturing unit inaugurated by Asst: Collector on 30/11/2018

2019

New Building Work Started on 03/07/2019 with an estimate of Rs.80 Lakhs

2021

Building Fourth Phase with New Dining Hall, Auditorium, Bed Rooms etc completed within 2 year.
